Which Campsite Should You Choose at Wynola Country Cousins?

The most common question we get here at Wynola Country Cousins is, “What’s your best site?” The truth is, it depends. What kind of camping set-up do you have? Do you want to swim laps or luxuriate in the shallows? Do you want a spot with easy access to a swimming hole? Are you travelling with kids? If so, how many and what ages?

We know it can be tough to pick the right site from a few photos, so here are some recommendations to help you decide. And one thing we see all the time: campers come back to their “favourite” site again and again… right up until the day it’s booked out and they try somewhere new. Then suddenly, they’ve got a brand-new favourite. That’s the magic of Wynola, every campsite has its own personality.

Every single one of our Condamine River campsites is beautiful. All sites sit along the river, some elevated above the water, some right beside a rocky rapid, and each has expansive rural views that make camping in Killarney QLD so special. It’s almost impossible not to see something breathtaking out here.

A quick word about the river. Yes, it’s officially the Condamine River, but many campers call it “the creek” because of its narrow, winding shape and the way it moves through deep waterholes connected by shallow, rocky rapids. When we say you can swim, it might mean end to end in a deeper waterhole, or it could mean playing in the shallows with the kids.
